HONG KONG ZERO is a film-inspired game; its first chapter, Whiteout Causewaybay, is set in Causeway Bay. The story and characters are fictional.

3D models: Lands Department, HKSAR Government / CSDI

Roads: © OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL

First-person AK47 and hands: Ak47 by kursat_sokmen, CC BY 4.0, original at https://skfb.ly/6UEL9. Modifications include in-game coordinates and scaling, material roughness, animation playback speed and transitions, and muzzle effects; sleeves, hand colours, and normal maps were remade for Tsim Sha Tsui, Mong Kok, and PvP mode (Causeway Bay retains original textures), preserving existing geometry, UVs, and rigging. The AK47 held by enemies in Mong Kok Level 4 "Three Alarms" also derives from this model: stripped to the receiver without hands, reduced to approx. 1,900 triangles, colour textures downscaled to 512/256 px, with normal maps removed.

First-person M4A1 (Mong Kok): “M4A1 Assault Rifle” by 3DModelsCC0 via OpenGameArt (nisu), CC0 1.0; mounted on hands from the AK47 set above. M4A1 gunshot sound: The Free Firearm Sound Library (Ben Jaszczak, Brian Nelson, Kevin Heras, Matthew Nanney), AR-15 recording, CC0 1.0.

Pistol: Gintoki1234, “Glock 19 Gen 4”, CC BY 4.0; original: Glock 19 Gen 4. Changes: game scale, materials, separate slide/trigger/magazine parts, sights and firing animation; hands use the AK47 asset credited above.

Enemy ragdoll physics: cannon-es 0.20.0 (cannon.js Authors, MIT license; see CANNON-ES-LICENSE.txt).

UI button sounds: Kenney Interface Sounds (click_004), UI Audio (click1 and switch1), CC0 1.0.

Urban ambience: softwalls XY_City hum_Night_River_ambience (night recording in Moscow, Freesound), CC0 1.0; edited, mixed to mono, filtered, and looped.

Tsim Sha Tsui and Victoria Harbour at Night

Tsim Sha Tsui 3D survey data is also from the Lands Department / CSDI; roads © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL). Snow, vehicles, characters and missions are the game's own work.

Victoria Harbour panorama: Romain Pontida, 2014, Central and Victoria Harbour at night, view from Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong, China, CC BY-SA 2.0. Modifications include JPEG/mobile WebP compression, curved projection, colour grading, and dynamic reflections; photographic derivatives share the same licence.

Western night view: Alexey Komarov / Alexkom000, 2024, View of Central and Sheung Wan from Kowloon Public Pier at night 2, CC BY 4.0. Modifications include JPEG/mobile WebP compression, cropping, brightness adjustment, and projection. The original author does not endorse this game; licences apply to respective photos and derivatives.

Mong Kok (& Tsim Sha Tsui Buses)

3D spatial data for Mong Kok is likewise sourced from the Lands Department of the HKSAR / CSDI; roads, bus stop locations, and building outlines north of Mong Kok Road © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL). Traffic lights are placed at signalised pedestrian crossings, and street-sweeper carts rest at back-alley entrances: 3D Pedestrian Network data provided by the Lands Department of the HKSAR Government via the Common Spatial Data Infrastructure (CSDI) Portal; intellectual property belongs to the HKSAR Government. Snow scenery, neon signs, characters, and missions are creative adaptations for the game.

Street vehicle and facility models by businessyuen, CC BY 4.0: Bus (used in Mong Kok and Star Ferry Pier, Tsim Sha Tsui; modifications: proportions, paint and glass, tyres, wipers, grilles, and front displays changed to real KMB route signs: Route 16 in Mong Kok, Route 1 to Chuk Yuen Estate in Tsim Sha Tsui); Minibus (modifications: green roof changed to red roof, proportions, paint and glass, tyres, wipers, grilles, fictional destination sign); Hong Kong Traffic Light (modifications: dimensions, polygon reduction, recolouring); plus Mong Kok street assets generously provided by the author: bus shelter (modifications: mobile polygon reduction, palette converted to vertex colours, real route stop sign added), FEHD orange litter bins in three variants (upright, open, overturned; modifications: polygon reduction, scaled-down textures), refuse and recycling bins (modifications: polygon reduction, scaled-down textures), and street-cleaning refuse cart with broom (modifications: polygon reduction, palette converted to vertex colours). The original author does not endorse this game.
